What it's all about

On Footy and Friends Dylan Buckley (Carlton and GWS) is joined by former teammate Brett Deledio (Richmond and GWS) and former opponent Mick Barlow (Fremantle and Gold Coast) to review and preview the footy across two episodes.

Mick, a current assistant coach at North Melbourne, provides an insight into how an AFL coach sees the game, Dyl attempts to cover for the fact that he only saw two of the nine games and Brett spends most of the episode somewhere between grumpy and funny.

Footy and Friends is a show with many personalities. Sometimes there’s quality footy conversations, sometimes it's Dyl just trying to get a rise out of Brett and sometimes the run sheet gets flipped on its head as the old footy stories come to the fore.

Now in its third season, this show has grown a community from within the Dyl and Friends audience but it is now ready to stand on its own two feet.

Hosted by

Dylan Buckley

Dylan Buckley is a former AFL footballer who played 41 games (plus many more in the twos and a couple in the twos twos) for Carlton and GWS Giants across nine seasons. Knowing the end of his football career was approaching, Dylan went in search of something away from the game that gave him professional purpose and the Dyl & Friends podcast was born. Dylan launched Producey, his latest venture in 2022. Away from Producey and other media commitments, you’ll find Dylan enjoying time with his wife, son Max and his dog Frankie (French Bulldog) in the inner northern suburbs of Melbourne where they live or out on the golf course crunching pinnacles.

Michael Barlow

Mick Barlow is a former AFL player with 141 games under his belt for Fremantle and Gold Coast. He broke into the AFL system the hard way, being drafted as a mature-age player and was rewarded for his determination by winning the AFLPA’s Best First Year Player Award in 2014. He also played in the 2013 AFL Grand Final.

Post his playing days, Mick transitioned into coaching and is currently the assistant coach at North Melbourne.

Mick is a regular member of the Footy & Friends podcast and coaches the AFL Clubby program.

Brett Deledio

Brett Deledio is a former AFL player known for his elite skills and athleticism, highlighted by being the No. 1 draft pick in 2004 and winning the Rising Star Award.

Brett became a fan favourite at Richmond Tigers over 12 seasons before finishing his career with the GWS Giants. Across 275 AFL games, Brett earned multiple club Best & Fairest awards and was a two-time All-Australian.

Since retiring, Brett has seamlessly transitioned into the AFL media world as a member of the ABC radio football broadcast team in a special comments role. He is now a player manager with Mac Sports, where he represents a group of current AFL players for their playing contracts and marketing opportunities.

Outside of work, Brett is a proud father of three girls and is a country boy at heart, originating from Kyabram, Victoria.

Brett is also a member of the Footy & Friends podcast, featuring in two episodes per week during the AFL season.
